Samsung Unveils Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Fold 6 with Enhanced Generative AI Features

In a highly anticipated event on Wednesday, Samsung introduced its latest foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, at the Unpacked event in Paris. Samsung's own Galaxy S24 and S24+ are priced at $799 and $999, respectively, while the high-end S24 Ultra costs $1,299.

A standout feature of the new Galaxy models is the integration of Samsung's Galaxy AI platform, enhancing the phones with powerful generative AI capabilities. This platform, initially introduced with the Galaxy S24 lineup earlier this year, offers a range of AI-driven functionalities including real-time translation, advanced photo editing tools, and various productivity enhancements.

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Fold 6 feature several physical enhancements along with the Galaxy AI platform. According to Samsung, AI features are immensely popular among their users, with 77% of Galaxy S24 owners utilizing these features weekly. Notable tools include Google's Circle to Search and Samsung's Edit Suggestions. Circle to Search allows users to capture photos of objects or text and search for them online or translate them, while Edit Suggestions provide AI-generated text suggestions for messages and emails.

One of the key highlights of the Galaxy AI platform is its real-time conversation feature within the Interpreter app. This allows users to have seamless conversations in different languages. By folding the Galaxy Z Fold 6 into a mini laptop or positioning the Galaxy Z Flip 6 like a makeup compact, the app can display translated text on the respective screens, facilitating real-time communication across languages.
